Where have you guys been?

Our last two weeks in Costa Rica were accompanied by my mama and Rivs' brother Jake. Our time together was filled with lots of food, laughter, hikes, and "that's what she said" jokes. While Rivs and Jake spent 4 days at the quasi-summit of Chirripo working as substitute park rangers, us girls decided we were better suited for warmer weather and headed to the beaches of Costa Rica's South Pacific. Harper loved romping butt-naked in the black sand beaches and filling her ample cracks with various treasures such as hermit crabs, broken shells and washed up sticks.

Then it was my graduation. No, I did not cry. Nope, not even when they called my name. That may have been partly due to the fact that my name was called as SooHyun from South Korea, but still. I was stoic.

Then Rivs, Harp and I made the 15 hour journey back to Oregon. The flights went surprisingly well, minus the part when Harper choked on a huge chunk of Gerber Biter Buscuit (banned from our house now) and, after receiving baby hymlic from your truly, vomitted 6 ounces of formula all over -yes- yours truly. I was soaked. Absolutely and completely drenched in a mixture of milk, bile, biter biscuit and butternut squash. Luckily Rivs had a sweater in his carry on, so at least I didn't have to endure the rest of the flight soaked in Harper's rejected meals. If I had mentioned earlier that the past two months I was subject to severe allergies at the hands of fertile rainforest air which forced my eyes into perma-swollen mode, which consequently rendered my eyes and the surrounding area to age about 40 years, you might have a clue of what I looked like/smelled like when I greeted Rivers' family for the first time in a year. They didn't say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were wondering why Rivs had left his wife for Benjamin Button.

K, that's all for now. Oregon and LA soon to come...

Update

No, I haven't slipped off the face of the earth. We've just been graced with visitors (my mum, Rivs' bro), then graduation, then a 15 hour journey back to the US of A followed by days packed full of family fun. Many great stories to come (ie Harper's choking-induced projectile puking all over me in the airplane).
